Project: IBIS supports Acciòn Andina de Educaciòn (AAE), which has as its main objective to implement a relevant, contextual and meaningful education focus and strategy.  This takes into account the cosmovision and logic of the daily life of the emigrant students who have come from the country to the city and who attend the schools in the outlying areas of the Municipality of Sucre.  Work is carried out jointly and in coordination with the National Pedagogic University “Mariscal” Sucre (Universidad Pedagógica Nacional “Mariscal” Sucre - UPNMS), the education authorities and social organisations in the Municipality of Sucre.

Principal problem: The principal problem is the presence of a Quechua-speaking population of emigrants from the country to the city of Sucre.  They receive inadequate, irrelevant and out of context social and educational assistance that does not respond to the cultural, social or linguistic characteristics of the boys and girls who attend the so-called “urban” schools.
