Roger Quiróz, Decano de la Facultad de Humanidades The Faculty of Humanities was created on the 25th March 1993 by the ICU-resolution Nº 19/1993. By 2005, the faculty had an enrolment of 6,660 students and 160 teachers. The dean is the highest authority in the faculty and the heads of departments report to him/her. The faculty offers degrees in: Educational Sciences, Sociology, Communication, Psychology, Spanish and Modern Languages. In addition to the five mentioned careers, the Faculty of Humanities has a unit for long-distance learning, one for postgraduate work, a research-institute, a centre for audiovisual-production, a university radio, a department for public relations, a department for curricular evaluation, a department for registry and control and an accounting department. Aware of its social responsibility, it aspires to be an open-minded academic community, responsible for its future. It is democratic in its administration, promoting an integrated training of its students, stimulating the production of scientific knowledge, it trains capable professionals, and it is greatly benefitting the cultural vitality and human development in the region and country. |
